So on my commute in this morning I had an unfortunate issue with a road rage driver who basically terrorized me for about 5 minutes of my 30 minute commute this morning (in-so bad that I actually had 911 dialed into my phone in case it got worse).

Do you guys have any recommendations? I was thinking of the Roav/Anker Dashcam but open to others.

I read and see so many things about road rage. Luckily, the closest I got to an incident was flashing high beams. Is it really this common?

Thinkware X350. It uses 3M adhesive, so no suction cup.

I have a G1W-C and an A119S.

G1W’s build quality is meh, but gets its job done. Most notably the wobbly USB port wears out from shock, but it is cheap.

A119S does some nice shots, but there’s a “recall” going on with the V1 models, the GPS mount sometimes disconnects. Make sure you’re getting a V2 model with the non-spring loaded pins mount and you’re good.

If you have the budget, Blackvue DR650 is good, front and back. Installation a bit more involved though, more cables to hide.

I find a tyre (tire for the Americans)  bar works well.

Yeah, this is probably the worst I ever had where I never had to have 911 dialed up on my phone before.

I feel like there’s a 2nd side to this story. I’ve had a few pissed off people but I usually just drive away, or just stop.

I really like the Anker dash cam. I have also heard good things about the Aukey one...

https ://www.amazon.com/dp/B072FGL63X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_jOYFzbDVJG5E3

But my suggestion is get one. Get it today, go to Amazon and order one. It doesn’t matter what you get because ultimately most of them are good enough to get the job done, and any of them is going to be better than nothing.

I’ve been running a DR650GW for 2 and a half years now, mostly for scenic drives and dopey drivers rather than ragers. It’s been overall reliable:

First thing I look for in a dashcam is whether it’s a dual channel (front and rear cameras) one. The one I’m using now (a “HDE-C18”) doesn’t have the greatest quality (example here ), but it’s not bad for the $50 or so I paid for it.

Had this happen to me recently because I left too much space in front of me while in traffic. Guy was shouting at me two lanes away from an on ramp shoulder. Absolutely psycho, had to dial 911. Damn BMW drivers...

Now, I am going to take the Hit for the Team, including you. What is the one thing in common with all these incidents?

Do you give others the right of way when merging?

Can you see the back tires of the car in front of you when you stop?

If you ever use your car to block someone to maintain your,“Turn”, do you have the means to win the fight if he has a weapon and jumps out and whats to hurt you?

Do you ever let the ,“Pushy Rude Ass Hole”, go in order to be safe. That way there isn’t a problem.

I don’t know you, you could be doing everything right but if your letting the Pushy Asshole take your turn then why are they getting Mad?

Win/Lose thinking:

Do I want to fist/Gun Fight to be right?

Will I be better then Him/Her at said fist/gun fight?

I’ll try to explain what happened. We were at an intersection that has two left hand turn lanes. I was in the “right hand” left turn lane (first car in line) and he was in the “left hand” turn lane, second car in line. After we turn left, my lane ends about 1000-ish feet in front of us. NORMALLY, people in the left hand turn lane leave room for the people in the right hand turn lane to merge over if they want.

This guy INITALLY left room so I began to move over, then halfway into the lane, he decides to pull a “fuck you” move and attempt to block me out. Because I was already halfway over I just completed my merge. He proceeded to tailgate me and lay on his horn all the way down the road until we get to the next stop light.... One mile down the road (this is a downhill one lane each direction so no way for him to pass me or anything).

Then he attempts to cut in front of me because we both had to turn left at the next light but since I was already in front he couldn’t do it. Then he basically risked himself getting t-boned making his left turn to stay behind me, tailgated me again and honked his horn like before. At this point he was finally able to pass me, and when he did, he cut me off and slammed on his brakes. After that we turned our separate ways.

It was probably the nutiest thing I’ve ever been a part of. This is a way I take to and from work. Every. Single. Day. So it’s not like I’m not familar with how the route is ran and the way MOST motorists drive it.

These people seriously need a life. If your “opponent” really has nothing better to do than to chase down someone they don’t even know for petty traffic issues, then it’s best to lose them at all costs.

Yesterday I had some losers on sport bikes rev and wheelie beside my Ferrari on the highway. I didn’t even acknowledge them.

I broke my G1W’s USB port by simply waving my hand while forgetting that the wire was there.

I tried to bend it back but a pin had snapped, rendering the whole thing useless.

I now have an Auto Vox which I’m quite happy with. It mounts with double-sided tape, but no neck is an awesome tradeoff.
